History
The 6 year old school girl’s rape case in Bangalore brought all the Bangloreans to the street to protest against the crime. The fury of the mob was so intense and unbounded. There was uproar in the city. Hoping for a safer city for women, a group of four IITitian’s (Ashwin R, Bhushan Nagaraj, Prajwal Shiva Reddy, and Venkatesh Prasad N) started an organization – Anti Rape Organisation (ARO) on July 20th 2014. We started it not for fame, but to bring a change in the society. We believes that people should not just blame the government, police and other institutions for the current scenario in the city but it is rather the responsibility of each and every individual to come forward and do something about it. We consider it as our problem. We want to create an impact by bringing change.
‘We cannot say whether things will get better if we change; what we say is they must change if they are to get better’.
