It is expected that over US $ 1-1.5 billion worth of clinical trials are likely to be outsourced to India by 2015*. This is likely to drive up the demand for skilled resources to manage these trials and related areas. An estimate indicates that significant likely skill gap of over 50,000 clinical research professionals in India. Further, the scope of areas related to trials which used to be outsourced to India has changed tremendously over the last decade. From just data entry and clinical monitoring, India now witnesses a surge in areas such as biometrics, quality assurance, medical writing, data management and many more.
With this gap in mind, AHERF commenced a Post Graduate program in Clinical Research. Through these courses, AHERF has contributed over 150 trained professionals to the industry, academia and Government institutions. The course is conducted by the Training Division of AHERF
