Anugraha English Medium School Ujire DK 574240 3.15

Thirty eight years ago, it was a dream freshly realized by a great man of vision and courage Rev. Fr. E.P. Dias of immortal memory. It is our great founder’s vision which transformed what was once a barren land-in to a blooming garden ‘Anugraha’. ‘Anugraha’ the name itself signifies, God’s goodness, kindness benevolence have been ceaselessly descending upon Anugraha school by way of beautiful blessings.
Thirty eight years of service in Ujire with our promising future generation is a great call. In keeping with the spirit of Christian education the focus has always been on providing integral education to students catering to their needs.
The beginnings of Anugraha are in truth a story of pioneering adventure of vision of faith in God and of much personal sacrifice on the part of its founder late Rev. Fr. E.P. Dias.
It occurred to Fr. E.P. Dias’s far reaching and fertile mind that an English Medium School Ujire was the urgent need- an idea that baffled many with the shock of newness. What puzzled all was that there was neither a building nor equipment to the school.
Fr. Dias made a room in his house and on June 2nd 1980 first standard was started with 23 students when Miss Gretta Santhumayar took the charge of the school as Head Mistress.
Very soon the school was affiliated with the catholic board of Education, Diocese of Mangalore, under the able management of Rev. Fr. Denis Moras Prabhu, the then secretary of Catholic Board. He succeeded in Getting the necessary permission and recognition to the school from the Government of Karanataka.
During ther 37 years of its existence, the school has moulded the minds and hearts of thousands of students. All round growth or total formation of student’s conducive atmosphere for study and reflection, a lot of scope and encouragement for extra curricular activities- these have been hallmarks of Anugraha school.
Having completed 37 years of its existence Anugraha can look with pride and joy on the past years. The glorious achievement of this enterprise is to be credited to all the correspondents who have nutured this school to reach greater heights. We joyfully recall and acknowledge the services rendered by these correspondents.
