Yoga is being embraced by people from all walks of life. The physical and spiritual benefits of yoga are endless. Yoga aims to create balance in the mind and body through exercise (asanas), breathing (pranayama) and meditation (dhyana). I have done my yoga training from Yogarakshanam, Chennai, which is attached to the International Yoga Society. I have been a trained Yoga Instructor for the last 12 years. I specialise in therapeutic yoga and yoga asanas with chants for the promotion of holistic health and for the prevention of specific diseases. The entire universe was built on sound, which is nothing but vibration. By vibrating a certain combination of sounds, we are able to tune into various levels of intelligence, or consciousness. Thus, by combining sound, breath and rhythm, mantra chanting regulates the chronic stress and tension that is the norm for many people in today’s hyper-stimulated lifestyle. By balancing the endocrine system, chanting normalizes hormone production, which balances our moods and overall sense of well-being.
I conduct classes for professionals, sports persons, artists, women (pre-natal and post-natal), children and the elderly. I analyse the individual susceptibility and plan the yoga training according to the vocation, environment, attitude and aptitude.
I have held many Yoga Workshops for both novice and serious enthusiasts. I have conducted a yoga workshop at the India club of Liechtenstein as part of India Culture Week organised by Cultural Ministry of Liechtenstein. Athletes, ski and mountain guides, artists, local yoga teachers, high school students, midwives, eminent personalities like the foreign minister, Dr. Aurelia Flick attended my yoga workshops.
