Ohalo College, also known as the Ohalo College of Education, is an Israeli leading institution that specializes in teachers' and kindergarten teachers' training toward a B.Ed. degree in various disciplines, including Biology, Mathematics, English, Special Education, Jewish Studies, and Physical Education, as well as toward an M.Ed. degree in Management and Organizational of Education systems. The College currently has 2,500 learners, of which 60% are students in the Education and Teaching professions, while the rest are in continuing education programs, advanced studies, professional development and external studies. The overall task that Ohalo has set for itself is to shape a new generation of high quality teachers who will become a "spearhead" of relevant, future-oriented and value-committed teaching in Israel.Innovative PedagogyOur pedagogical experts have developed a unique learning process called "Challenge to Project Competency Based Learning." It is an eight-step model that combines well-known and familiar learning and working methods. The model includes movement on two main axes: the horizontal axis, where students move from self-work to teamwork, and the vertical axis, where students are requested to move within the framework of their learning from individual outcomes to shared outcomes. This model re-defines the role of the teacher and adapts it to the reality of the 21st century.Adapted Learning SpacesThe implementation of the described dynamic learning model requires a redesign of the learning spaces, which were planned and processed together with "Steelcase Education". The new spaces provide our teachers the tools to motivate their students through dynamic and engaging learning experience.Cutting-Edge TechnologyOur learning spaces are equipped with the latest educational technology, including Media-Scape, smart-boards, laptop computers, Einstein scientific tablets, flat-screen displays, etc.
