المهباش Mihbash 4.26

المهباش في سطور..
تأسس في القدس قبل سبع سنوات، في مبنى قديم بني في عهد السلطة العثمانية عام 1905م خارج أسوار القدس و هذا المبنى من المباني القلائل التي بنيت خارج أسوار القدس في ذلك الوقت، يقع في شارع نابلس و يطل على باب العامود.

في بداية اقامته كان منزل للسكن لمدة تجاوزت الثلاثين عاما، و بعد ذلك استؤجر من قبل حزب البعث العربي الاشتراكي لمدة 25 عاما الى أن اقامت الحكومة الاردنية باغلاق مكاتب الحزب في جميع ارجاء المملكة، و تحول في اوائل الستينات الى فندق اطلق عليه اسم (فندق القاهرة)، و بعد ذلم تحول الى نزل للشباب و اطلق عليه اسم (كايرو هوستل)، و في عام 2007م تم افتتاح مطعم المهباش.

Al-Mihbash Restaurant
Al-Mihbash was established in 2007 in a building that is housed in an old building that dates back to the Ottoman Era,i.e. the beginning of the 20th century (approximately 1905).x

When the building was first established it served for 30 years as a residence. After that it was rented to the communist Baath Party (Hizb Al-Baath Al-Arabi) for 25 years. When the Jordanian government closed all the Baath Party offices in the region at the beginning of the 1960, the building turned into the Cairo Hotel, which later became the Cairo Youth Hostel and remained in this function until it was refurbished to become Al-Mihbash Restaurant

THE NAME AL-MIHBASH REFERS TO THE INSTRUMENT WHICH IS USED TO GROUND THE COFFEE AFTER ITS ROASTED. IN THE PROCESS THE GRINDER IS MAKING RHYTHMIC MUSICAL SOUNDS, ACCOMPANIED BY SINGING - SO AL-MIHBASH IS ALSO CONSIDERED AS A MUSICAL INSTRUMENT
