ישיבנו שואפת להצמיח תלמידי חכמים שתורתם היא תורה של צדקה ומשפט, של חסד, של אחריות ושל אכפתיות, הדוברת עברית עכשווית, קשובה לישראליות ולזמן, ויחד עם זאת שיהיו מלאי רגש דתי עמוק וחיוני.
בחרנו למקם את בית המדרש במרכז הארץ מתוך רצון להיות שותפי-דרך למקורות ההשפעה השונים בחברה הישראלית: חברה, תקשורת, תרבות, כלכלה, אקדמיה, ממשל ועוד.

אנו חפצים שבית המדרש שלנו יהיה בית אנושי לחבורות העוסקות בתורה ומבקשות למצוא דרכה קרבת אלקים, לימוד שראשיתו חקירה פרשנית והקשבה לכתוב, תוך שיח קיומי ופנימי הנוגע בלב, חותר למשמעות ומבקש חיבור לחיים האישיים של הלומד מחד, ולציבוריות הישראלית מאידך. אנו רואים חשיבות רבה בקיים שיח מתמיד של "תורה-חברה" ומכאן עוסקים רבות בסוגיות של אתיקה, סוגיות דת ומדינה, חברה וכלכלה ועוד.

בראש הישיבה עומדים הרב יובל שרלו יחד עם הרב ד"ר תמיר גרנות. הרב שרלו ייחודי בשילוב גדלותו בתורה לצד עשייה חברתית וציבורית ענפה ובתוכה שותפות בהקמת 'צהר', חברות בדירקטוריונים ציבוריים (מועצת העיתונות, ספריה לאומית ועוד) חברות בוועדות הלסינקי ובוועדות אתיקה רפואיות רבות, כתיבת ספרי שו"ת ועוד. ייחודו של הרב תמיר גרנות הוא שילוב הלמדנות המסורתית לצד המחקר העכשווי יחד העמקה בלימודי חסידות והגות יהודית. בראש בית מדרש "שערים" עומד הרב איתמר אלדר, דוקטורנט למחשבת ישראל מומחה לתנ"ך וחסידות.

שיעור ביתי של הרב שרלו: סוגיות של אתיקה ויהדות, נודד בין בתים שונים בעיר
"בית מדרש לתורה ולחיים": מפגש שבועי להעמקה ולימוד ברוח הישיבה
"בית מדרש חכמת הלב": מפגש שבועי של לימוד בשיתוף קהילות חילוניות

The Yeshiva's mission is to develop social and communal leaders and scholars who feel a deep sense of duty and accountability toward Am Yisrael and whose focus is on justice, chessed, and social responsibility. The Yeshiva is strategically situated in the center of the country, in keeping with our philosophy of modern orthodoxy and engaging the society around us.

Yeshivat AMIT Orot Shaul belongs to the AMIT network, a network of over 110 schools throughout Israel, including elementary schools, high schools, children's homes, youth villages, vocational schools, and post high-school programs. AMIT works in conjunction with the Ministry of Education and the local municipalities, and serves nearly 30,000 students. AMIT nurtures and works with each student, instilling confidence, knowledge and values so that he or she can develop a satisfying, meaningful and fulfilling life and become a vital, productive member of Israeli society.

The Yeshiva is run by Rav Yuval Cherlow and Rav Tamir Granot. Rav Cherlow is known for his ability to combine Torah with ethics and social activism. Rav Cherlow was amongst the founders of the Tzohar, a central Modern Orthodox organization which works to build bridges between the religious and secular worlds. Rav Cherlow is a member of Governmental Ethical Committees, and of the Presidential Press Council of Israel. Rav Granot's uniqueness lies in his ability to combine the traditional way of learning with modern academic approaches, together with extensive study of Chassidut.

The Yeshiva is known for its unique style of learning. Our approach is to take high-level intellectual learning and fill it with meaning and emotion, and to find a way to make it connect to our own personal daily lives, and to society at large. We are also known for our warm, friendly environment, where we make each student feel comfortable and accepted, working with him to become the very best he can be in terms of learning, leadership, commitment to Medinat Yisrael and Am Yisrael, and social responsibility.

The Yeshiva consists of an Israeli Shana Aleph and Bet programs (pre-army), a post-army program, a Bachelor of Education and Teachers' Certificate program, and a Community Beit Midrash.
