Many years ago I came across the word impression, and ever since, I have been looking for the inner meaning of the word. “She made a wonderful impression” or “he made an impression of an insecure person” – from your experience you can surely add many occasions in which someone, something, a view, an animal, left an impression on you that you could not find words to express.

When I tried to define in words what an impression is, I couldn’t find an exact term.
So what can one do? One can collect material on the matter and try and digest what is learned. However, I came across difficulty here, since the explanations I read did not offer any new knowledge, but rather repeated conventional opinions.

How can one crystallize personal understanding that is not influenced by previous and traditional thought and opinions, relying on the inner knowledge that every one of us has. I discovered that we have a store of knowledge, a database that can respond to any question. How do we link to this knowledge? Through silence as we have when meditating. At first I didn’t give much credit to the method. Time and practice have enabled me to recognize the possibilities that are inherent in the practice of silence.

If we collect impressions from everything that surrounds us, these impressions are a kind of extremely delicate energy, which requires that we tune ourselves into the right vibration, in order for us to feel it.
Impressions are the nutrition needed for us to conduct our lives. That is why a walk in the woods, the thrill of a beautiful sunset, or looking at a work of art, may calm the body and the soul.
Impressions are food for the soul and are a necessity for a meaningful life.
Hidden impressions are works of art that attempt to touch the heart of the viewer.
