UCC Library is comprised of the Boole Library (Main Campus), Boston Scientific Health Sciences Library (Brookfield) and operates a joint Library service with Cork University Hospital Library. UCC Library also operates a joint Library Service with Mercy University Hospital, Cork.
The Boole Library is on the main campus at University College Cork (UCC) which is situated in south-west Ireland and was founded as a Queen’s College in 1845.
The Boole Library is named after George Boole who was first professor of Mathematics at Queens College Cork. Today Boole is best remembered as the originator of Boolean Logic - a fundamental step in today's computer revolution, and the basis for all modern computer software.
The UCC Library has over 700,000 volumes with access to over 60,000 e-journals.
