Trinity’s Politics Society has a long and established history as a society at the heart of current political issues. Established in 1984, it stands as a pillar amongst the ever-vibrant, politically diverse landscape of Trinity. Over the years, the society has held host to various debates and talks given by renowned political figures and commentators such as Garret Fitzgerald, Professor Gerard Casey and Noel Dorr. Through these events, students from all faculties can not only engage in political discussions but also deepen their knowledge of national and international political issues.
The society takes no political stance, instead it facilitates discussion and is open to all. Each week, it hosts student-led political conversations. Each month it organises a guest speaker, debate or tour. Each year, a trip is organised to politically significant locations such as Berlin, Vienna and Belfast.
