The Hope Foundation 4.18

HOPE is a rights based charity founded in 1999 with the aim of bringing help and hope to thousands of street children of Kolkata ( formerly Calcutta). The Foundation works primarily with children and their families and the difficulties that they encounter. The estimated population of the street children of Kolkata is approximately 250,000.

Together with our partner groups, HOPE currently funds over 60 projects for street children and their families in the areas of: nutrition, education, health care, residential homes for street children, child protection and counselling, community development, water and sanitation, drug rehabilitation, micro credit and vocational training.

HOPE also works to actively highlight and tackle the issues of child labour, child trafficking and HIV/AIDS and in times of emergenciy in India, HOPE provides humanitarian relief to those affected.
