About Us

The Curragh Montessori has been operating now for almost 21 years. It is a unique establishment offering professional childcare and a Montessori education for children from 2 yrs – 6 yrs. The professional and caring staff of three have worked in the school for many years, and are fully qualified to meet the physical, psychological, and educational needs of all the children.

The school fulfills all the criteria laid down by the relevant governing bodies. It has been notified to, and has been inspected by, Tusla (the early years preschool inspectorate) and Pobal.

Information on Numbers and Ratios:
The Curragh Montessori School caters for a maximum of 30 children on any one day.
The schoo'ls staff to child ratio is 1:11 in the Montessori Classes and in the Nursery Class the ratio is 1:8, where the children are aged between 2.5 years and 3 years.

ECCE
The Curragh Montessori School participates in the ECCE Scheme (Early Childhood Care and Education). Thus, we are able to offer your child up to **2 free years of preschool education.

**From September 2016, the ECCE scheme will be extended to children aged between 3 years and 5 years 6 months, or until they start primary school. This increases the number of weeks available on the ECCE scheme. Children will be able to enroll in pre-school at 3 different points in the year (September, January and April) in order to access the scheme.
