The Butterfly Club 3.12

The Butterfly Club opened its doors in rathkeale and later in Abbeyfeale in september 2004 as a follow on to the special olympics. It is a social club for children with special needs and caters for children from age 3. It is a totally voluntary run club. Our mission statement is: " To provide leisure activities in a safe, fun filled environment for children with special needs while providing respite for Parents/Guardians."
The butterfly club is now in its 9th year, has 61 children attending the club, 50 adult volunteers and 20 student volunteers. Our season runs from September to June finishing with a summer camp in july. We are always looking for volunteers, open to both male and female - so if you can spare a saturday afternoon once a month we would love to hear from you. Training will be provided and garda clearance check organised.
