Here at The Bushy Tailed Baker we offer home-baked treats and cakes for your pets. We only use human grade, natural ingredients because your pets deserve the best. We specialise in cakes and cúkies (cú is the Irish word for hound) for dogs but will make nutritionally appropriate cakes or treats for any pet. Just get in touch and ask.
The Bushy Tailed Baker is run by me, Dawn, and my 9-year-old Alaskan Malamute, Hudson. Hudson has a very discerning palate and approves all our cakes and treats himself. I also taste all our products to ensure that the quality and flavour is perfect for your pet and I don't put anything into our products that I wouldn't eat myself.
My interest in baking for pets started when I began to research alternative treats for Hudson. There are so many healthy and nutritious things that we can feed our dogs outside of what can be bought in supermarkets that we never even think to give them. These are the things I put in my cakes.
I am the daycare manager at Inn the Doghouse in Waterford. I have studied Animal Welfare with Elista Education and completed the Canine Mind course with COAPE, receiving a distinction in both. I am currently studying for a Diploma in Canine Health and Nutrition.
