What is hippotherapy?
The use of equine moevement as a treatment strategy is often reffered to as “hippotherapy”. Hippotherapy is a physical, occupational, and speech therapy treatment tool that utilizes equine movement as part of an integrated intervention programme to achieve functional outcomes.

The effects of equine movement on postural control, sensory systems and motor planning can be used to facilitate core postural control, motor coordination and timing of gross motor respiratory control, sensory integration skills, speech and language function, and attention skills. Other standard therapy tools/strategies are used in conjunction with equine movement to address each clients individual treatment goals and objectives.

Strides provides occupational therapy to children from 12 months old through adulthood with a variety of diagnosis and impairments, including but not limited to:
