Foróige is a national youth organisation, in operation in Ireland since 1952. Foróige engages with over 50,000 young people per year. We are an organisation of 400 staff and over 5,000 volunteers, who help us engage and reach this figure of young people week by week.

Foróige have a range of programmes and services for young people including -Volunteer led Clubs / Cafés, Local Youth Services, Local Youth Development Projects, Diversion Programmes, Drugs Prevention Programmes, Neighbourhood Youth Projects, Big Brother Big Sister (BBBS) Mentorship Programme and Education Programmes for Young People –Leadership, Citizenship, Entrepreneurship, Be Happy Be Healthy, Real U (Relationships and Sexual Health Programme) and Drugs Awareness & Education Programmes

Foróige Clubs meet in community spaces, generally one evening a week, catering for a specific age bracket. Foróige engages with young people aged 10-18 yrs old. Our clubs are co-ordinated by extra-ordinary volunteers, AKA Foróige Club Leaders.

Foróige Club Leaders provide the skeletal framework for our Foróige Clubs. They are guardians of their own club, breathing character, identity and possibility into it's very being. Our Leaders arrange logistics week by week to ensure the club runs smoothly. Leaders are involved in developing good relations with the young people in the club and work with them and the other leaders in partnership to develop ideas and activities that become part of The Club!

The role of Leader means that you can be just that to young people. Leaders in Foróige clubs help young people in discovering about themselves, their own inner strengths and about the world around them. Foróige Leaders are there to guide them, motivate them, listen to them, inspire them!

Foróige are also working with other communities in South Dublin this year, to open up more clubs. Don't see your own community listed here! Get in touch! The three magic ingredients for a Foróige Club are

1) a suitable youth friendly venue!
2) a small pool of adults, willing to commit to doing something extraordinary for young people and their community
3) young people!

** Please note: the demand for some of our clubs & places can be high, particularly for our Clubs for young people experiencing Autism. There are waiting lists for these clubs and we do our best to accommodate as many young people as we can!

..the more volunteers we have, the more young people we can reach!!

Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.
