Gaelic clubs representing the town have aquited themselves well in the past 126 years, winning plenty of honours and producing many famous players and administrators, none more so than the present holders of the torch for the national game in the town, Round Towers.

It was only recently that the club produced its long awaited history, and reading through it you will find how much the club has contributed to Gaelic Football in the County as well as nationally and while doing that, has become an institution in Kildare Town, adding to the sporg and social structure of the community.

Currently, Round Towers have over 200 members, which includes Players, Committee and general supporting members. The Clubs home ground is St.Brigids Park which has got a new makeover in the past two years with state of the art Floodlighting, a new playing surface, a covered stand which adds to the Modern clubhouse built some years ago.

There are fifteen different teams represent the club from various ages ranging from Under Six’s to Senior Men with every age catered for in between and in the last few years. We are part of a National trend with a rising number of Girls team being produced, which have started to bring home some Silverware.

As you can imagine running a club with these commitments takes a lot of self sacrifice by a lot of people who give their time voluntarily to manage the teams and to keep the club fiancially viable. We are very fortunate to have those people whose only reward is to achieve success on the field and to provide an opportunity to give the children of Kildare town a successful future in the Sport and in order to spread the load of work new people and new ideas are always Welcome !!

We have seen in recent years with people from different parts of Ireland and indeed the world making their homes in Kildare town and joining our club which hopefully will enhance and give a bright future to Round Towers Football Club.
