Premier Physical Therapy is a clinic run by Richard McDonald. Richard studied physical therapy for over 4 years and graduated with a B.Sc degree in Applied health science and physical therapy, from The Institute of Physical Therapy and Applied Science, and is a member of the Irish Association of Physical Therapists.

Richard treats all types of soft tissue injuries, including post operative injuries such as Knee ACL and shoulder dislocation, and is also certified in Dry Needling and Neuromuscular physical therapy. Other treatments include TENS therapy and muscle stimulation.
Some of the common injuries seen are:

- Knee Injuries.
- Hamstring Strains.
- Calf Strains and Achilles Tendonopathy.
- Ankle Sprains.
- Shoulder sprains, strains and dislocations.

A keen sportsman, Richard has experience of many sports injuries as well as day to day injuries both acute and chronic. He is currently looking after the Terenure RFC 1st Squad in Terenure and St. Mary's College RFC J1's rugby squad in Templeogue Dublin. Also works with DIT GAA.

Richard is also particularly interested in keeping people active, by educating people through rehabilitation to ensure that injury does not re-occur. Or education in pre-habilitation exercises, as a pre-emptive measure against injury occurrence.

Richard is also certified in Strength and Conditioning and Functional Movement Screening (FMS) from Setanta College where he also gained his Level 1 in Olympic Weightlifting.



*Treatments*

Treatments range from 40 mins to 1 hour after initial consultation, and are 60 euro per session.


Deep tissue massage treatments can be booked for 30 or 60 mins at a price of 30 and 60 euro respectively.

Early morning and late evening bookings can be made, for those who wish to get a treatment before or after work, as well as normal business hours.
