Polytron Technology Ltd. based in Cork, is the sole Irish agent for Polytron GmbH. For more than three decades, Polytron based in the Black Forest in Germany has designed and manufactured high quality TV / Radio reception and distribution systems. Initially, their product was fairly simple filters and other smaller components, but driven by customer demand they soon expanded their range,and before very long they were among the acknowledged leaders in the rapidly growing new technology.

Today, Polytron manufactures, among other things, a complete range system of innovative Distribution Amplifiers including return path for broadband communication. Polytron is one of the pioneers in the field of satellite reception and distribution and especially well known for its PolyCompact Headend Systems and converter systems for satellite IF.

IN 1994 Louis McNamara, an experienced engineer who had worked for Polytron for many years, set up Polytron-Technology Ltd. to act as sole Polytron representative for Ireland. RTE were among our first customers for small and medium sized transposers and transmitters.

Soon after that, private communities around the country were looking for small local self-help transposer systems; and again Polytron-Technology came to the rescue, and developed efficient and cost effective transposer units to provide TV services to local isolated areas.

Today, many years later, these systems are still working perfectly at sites throughout Ireland. Complete Head-end systems are designed and built by us with customers throughout Ireland and abroad. Here at home, we have designed and built systems for many of the major Irish hotels, hospitals and other large institutions.
