The Nutrition Research Centre Ireland has been established to study the role of nutrition and lifestyle for human wellbeing. The centre supports Principal Investigators across a range of nutrition-related themes and provides an infrastructure that is highly specialised and capable of delivering research projects to the highest possible standard. Within this centre, the directors (Professors John Nolan and Stephen Beatty) have established the Macular Pigment Research Group (MPRG) and complementary research strands, including the Algae Research strand, the Cognitive Function Research strand, and the Analytical Research strand. Our facilities include suites for testing vision and cognitive function, and laboratories for analytic and microbiologic studies
