Details

Nan's Place creche has been in business since 2004.
It is a custom built creche and is privately owned and managed by Joan Sheehan.
One of the major reasons of our success is the homely environment and small ratios.

Our opening hours are from 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday .
The creche is fully insured, health board registered and is a member of the NCNA and IPPA.

Nan’s place caters for a maximum number of 10 children.

The creche has a baby and a toddler room.

The Baby Room (3 months to 12 months), is a bright and sunny room which provides a stimulating environment for babies through musical toys, play centres, mirrors and lots more. Babies are encouraged to crawl and move about on large foam blocks which help in the development of their gross motor skills. The babies have a separate bedroom with their own individual cots. Each baby has his own routine, which helps them to feel more at home .

The Toddler Room (2 years to 3years)

The toddler room offers an environment that encourages the development of the imagination through role play in the home corner, dressing -up, puppets, etc.
Nan’s Place uses Project Bubbles as one of their methods of teaching along with Montessori and some High Scope. Project Bubbles is a helpful resource to help with childrens holistic development.
Curriculum is planned around a monthly theme and there is also a plan for weekly activities. These plans are posted on the notice boards for the parents attention. Nan’s Place dedicates as much time as possible to outdoor play. The creche has a lovely garden where the children enjoy climbing, sand and water play and lots of activities concerning nature. The children also do art and crafts and music rhythm and movement is a part of our daily routine.
