Mount Scott Limousins 2.6

Mount Scott Limousin herd is based in Mount Scott, Mullagh, Co.Clare and was established in 1991 by Michael Sexton. My pedigree herd consists of 25 males and 75 females. The herd is grazed over 130 acres of farmland in the townland of Mount Scott.

In 1991 I changed from a Dairy herd to pedigree Limousines. My first major purchase was a Gamin stock bull from Limoges in France. While visiting Limoges on an official Limousin trip, I saw progeny of Gamin. I saw great potential in this stock bull and decided to return to France to purchase the bull. This purchase has led to the expansion of the breed to the extremely successful herd of today.
Gamin bull left an enduring legency on the herd. He was used in A1 to the huge benefit of other breeders throughout Ireland.

The herd commenced showing in 1995 and has been very successful in numerous shows including but not limited to, the National Ploughing Championships, R.D.S. Spring Show over All Champion, Irish Limousin herds competition Clare club and best large herd 1st prize from 2007 to 2015.

I plan to keep developing breeding sustainable cattle that are cost productive and manageable.
