“South Beach” is located in the small picturesque village of Duncannon situated deep in the Sunny South East coast of Ireland. Situated roughly ten minutes walk from the village via the road or a leisurely stroll along the beach with all the local amenities you would desire whilst on holiday including a small grocery shop, a cafe overlooking the beach, a fish and chip shop and a Post Office. There is a “Centra” Supermarket just 5 minutes drive away with the nearest “Tesco” Superstore about 25 minutes drive just outside the Town of New Ross.

There are two child friendly pubs in the village, “The Strand Tavern” and “Roches Bar” both of which serve good quality food daily and entertain with live traditional music on some evenings (see videos).

Duncannon village also boasts the top class Fish Restaurant “Squigl” which has been chosen for inclusion in the best of “Georgina Campbells Ireland -

The seaside village of Duncannon is dominated by the large fortress which has played a significant part in Ireland's history . A military re-enactment takes place at the fort and on the beach on the June Bank Holiday weekend every year. In July/August there is the yearly National Sand Sculpting competition/festival with fireworks on the beach on the opening night.

Duncannon is only about 20 minutes drive from the famous “Hook Head Lighthouse” the oldest intact operational lighthouse in the world which has recently been awarded the worlds 'flashiest lighthouse' by Lonely Planet. Hook Head Lighthouse is breathtaking on a beautiful day and is just as breathtaking on a stormy day. In all kinds of weather “Hook Head Lighthouse” portrays its own unique beauty! If you are lucky you may catch a glimpse of one of the beautiful hump backed whales or seals that have been spotted swimming around the shores of "Hook Head" .. Come and see for yourself.

The old Quayside Town of Wexford with its display of shops and restaurants is about 30 minutes drive. Why not visit the very popular “Wexford Opera House” which is home to the most important festival of rare opera in the world!

The smaller Quayside Town of New Ross is about twenty minutes drive away.

You can be in the centre of Waterford City, famous for its beautiful cut crystal ware, within 30 minutes via the very popular and extremely picturesque car ferry at Ballyhack.

Why not enjoy a game of golf at one of the many exclusive Golf Courses located around the South East.
