Lenamore National School, Ballylongford 3.42

We are a two teacher primary school situated in the picturesque rural setting of North Kerry. The school first opened in 1942.

We are a progressive school which aims to merge long standing traditions with modern initiatives. We strive for excellence in Gaeilge, English and Mathematics. We can guarantee small class sizes. This in turn allows pupils to receive individual attention.

Lenamore N.S. offers pupils a variety of educational and Irish Cultural experiences. Through music, drama and our national game of Gaelic Football. We also provide many extra-curricular activities such as Traditional singing lessons, tin whistle, football, basketball, tennis, swimming, yoga, Irish dancing, gardening, computer lessons using laptops, ipads and desktop and knitting/sewing.

Our facilities include:
Bright Spacious classrooms with interactive whiteboards
Spacious school grounds, Basketball Court, Football Pitch, woodland area for hide and seek, sand pits and a wide range of P.E. equipment.
Vegetable Garden with raised beds and a Bug Hotel for our nearest neighbours.


We participate in many local competitions and events such as, GAA Scor na bPaisti winning North Kerry and County gold and silver on several occasions from 2012 -2016, the Listowel St Patrick's Day Parade achieving accolades for our floats. During all our extra-curricular activities we have a strong ethos that all pupils within our school have an input and participate no matter what their ability, there is a place for all pupils in our school, we have a strong support system in place with resource teachers, S.NA and teacher training on an ongoing basis for pupils with special requirements.
