What Happens In Speech and Drama Class

Students are encouraged to do the talking themselves and use their own words and actions in all activities. Programmes allow them to use their imagination and bring them to what they want to be and where they want to go. Activities may include dress up tasks where students dramatise a character and become instant performers. They are also opened to different literary genre such as poetry and prose as well as storytelling activities, improvisation and mime in order to inspire them to become active participants together with other students.

The classes are diversified and cover all aspects of drama, looking at speech, communication and drama development. Proven training methods are used to develop a more vibrant and creative personality in the student. By exposing your child to speech and drama they will develop additional skills to help them with their bright futures.

Children are also prepared for the Leinster School of Music and Drama Exams at Easter. It is though a fantastic opportunity for them, as it teaches them about formal presentation and communication skills and is a great confidence builder. It also gives a measure of the student’s progress and an opportunity to draw out the student’s potential and range of experience.

Classes are suitable from 4 years and upwards and are made up of small groups of students to ensure amaximum of individual attention.
Private classes are also available; please contact Kerrie for further details.

Classes are held every Tuesday and Thursday in the Iona Hall, Bective St, Kells and are competitively priced.
