Facilities & how to get to the Hill of Tara
The Hill of Tara is a big, open area, and there is no admission charge. We recommend comfortable shoes and warm clothing, as you will be crossing rough ground and the hill is windy and can be cool even in summer. Binoculars and a camera are useful.

There is limited access to the hill for people with impaired mobility — but thanks to our new audio guide, you can sit and enjoy a tour over coffee in the gift shop, or even from the comfort of your own armchair.
