Helena Walsh is one of Ireland’s leading voice specialists and gives workshops nationally and internationally in voice and accent work. Over the past twenty years she has worked as a vocal coach on many professional productions as well as actor and film training programmes in Ireland and Europe.

She is an Associate Teacher of Fitzmaurice Voicework®, from The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, University of London and is the only qualified teacher of this method in Ireland. She also has a certificate in Roy Hart Training and was mentored in voice by Andrea Ainsworth, vocal director at the Abbey Theatre and Kevin Crawford, Founder member of The Roy Hart International Voice Centre in France. She is director and founder of her own Voice and Body Studio. As well as being Co Director of “ Articulate Anatomy Theatre Company”, which recently performed an adaption of Donal Ryan’s “The Spinning Heart” at Smock Alley in July and hopes to go on a national tour in early 2017. She is co director of "The Fifth International Freedom & Focus Fitzmaurice Voicework Conference in London 2018.

Helena was co-director of the "Fourth International Freedom & Focus Fitzmaurice Voicework® Conference," - together liberating our voices ", which was held in Dublin from July 14th to 18th, 2016. Over one hundred and twenty participants attended from twenty four countries around the world. She also taught on "The Fitzmaurice Teacher Training Certification" in Barcelona , this summer. She works freelance for The Abbey Theatre on their outreach programmes as well as being voice and dialect coach at The Irish Film Academy.

Over the past number of years Helena taught at The Gaiety School of Acting, the national theatre school of Ireland, on the BA in Acting at Trinity College, N.Y.U's overseas theatre programme for ten years , at U.C.C. on the B.A in Theatre Studies, at Eolia Conservatory Of Dramatic Arts, Barcelona. She also teaches on the three-year Theatre Studies program at Inchicore V.E.C., and The Accademia Dell’Arte,Tuscany, Italy. Finally at The Academy of Theatre , Radio, Film and T.V. in Lujiana, Slovenia.

As Co Director of “Articulate Anatomy Theatre Company”, Helena's work focuses on the development of the ensemble and new dynamic approaches to performance with a strong emphasis on physicality/ voice/ imagination and play. In 2015 Helena co-directed and devised a project with Eolia Conservatory of Dramatic Arts, Barcelona, with four Irish and four Catalan actors, called "Ashes to Roses ". This piece was performed at "The Fourth International Freedom & Focus Fitzmaurice Voicework Conference' at Smock Alley, July ,2016 . Articulate Anatomy is curently working on an adaption of Donal Ryan's novel " The Spinning Heart ", directed by Paul Brennan, which plans a nationwide tour in Ireland in early 2017 . It performed to sell out audiences in July at Smock Alley .

Helena trained and worked as an actress for many years before becomming a voice coach. She also teaches Fitzmaurice Voicework on The Postgraduate Yoga Teacher Training run by Lisa Peterson at Living Yoga. She has a BA Honors in English Literature and the Classics from University College Dublin.
