Heir Island Ferries 2.97

The Murphy Family provide a scheduled Summer sailing to Sherkin Island & Heir Island from the mainland Piers of Cunnamore and Baltimore on board the M.V Boy Colm which carries 23 passengers.

In recent years the Murphy’s operated the Ferry (M.V Norvic) to Long Island, however this boat is now currently operating as an Angling Boat and Touring Boat for up to 12 passenger.

The Murphy’s have had strong connections with the fishing industry spanning 55 years and more & have great knowledge of the local areas and provide other Services by request like River Navigation, Eco-tours and Family/Group trips, also upon request they can go to Cape Clear.

For the past 11 years and more Danny Murphy has been operating the route from Cunnamore to Heir, Sherkin and Baltimore on board of the Miss Josephine Ferry, but sadly the Miss Josephine is no longer in operation so Danny has recently purchased a boat from Dingle, the M.V. Boy Colm, and he has had this boat refitted to modern standards under the regulations of the Dept. of Marine. The M.V. Boy Colm is now in operation upon the old Miss Josephine route from Baltimore and Cunnamore to the Islands of Sherkin and Heir.

The Murphy Family hopes to see You on board on any of the two boats in operation, as we would be more than happy to show you around the beautiful Islands in Roaringwater Bay, and you can take the opportunity in disembarking onto any of the inhabited Islands within our Schedule to see up close for yourself the beauty these Islands have to offer to those who simply love to explore.
