Gráinne Uáile Sub Aqua Club was formed in 1981 by like minded individuals who wanted to explore the underwater world of our coastal seas. We are a member of the Irish Underwater Council who in turn is affiliated to CMAS (The World Diving Federation). Our instructors provide scuba training to it's members and these diving qualifications are recognised world wide and allow you to dive where ever you maybe in the world. Our aim is to conduct weekly dives on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays as we have on the Mayo coast some of the very best dive sites in the country. Our club welcomes new members all year round, if you already have a dive qualification and would like to become a member please contact us and we can arrange a simple crossover.

Our club has a 100% voluntary and dedicated Underwater Search & Recovery Unit and have been providing this service to the Ballina and greater community for over 30 years. We work closely with the Gardai, Coast Guard and other agencies and are on call 24 hours a day 365 days a year. On average we have 12 - 14 official call outs per year in addition to the many times we have been put on notice. Members of the unit train to the highest standards as we often find these dives tend to be in water bodies with fast flowing water with little to no visibility.
