Francie's is a family run pub, and kind of a landmark in Killorglin. It's divided into two, a front bar, and a livelier back bar with a pool table. You might have seen it on the meteor add!

The inside hasn't changed for years, but that's part of the charm.

Firstly a little bit of history - It's called Francie's after the couple Francie and Sheila Sheehan who ran the pub for many years. It can be traced back to 1886 when Sheila's grandaunts Katie and Johanna Murphy passed the bar onto her aunts Bridget and Julia. Francie and Sheila took over running the bar in 1962 and today it's in the capable hands of their children Dodo and Frankie.

Come in for a chat and some local knowledge - you'd never know there might even be an impromptu sing song! Also check out the hat collection behind the bar, and an entire wall (to the right of the bar) is covered in old photos – kind of like a local hall of fame.

Francie's has a license for early opening, from 8.30 all year round. Facilities include a pool table and darts board, and it's also a great venue for a big sporting event - all sports fans will be looked after here.

Soup sandwiches tea and coffee are available Monday to Friday and all parties can be catered for.

Francie's is certainly Irish pub culture at its best!
