Foundation Arts Festival is an initiative by Offaly County Council and The Arts Council of Ireland, in association with Tullamore Community Arts Centre aimed
at highlighting international contemporary arts practice in preparation for the opening of the Arts Centre.

Taking place in shop units and public spaces in Tullamore, Foundation is an exciting
opportunity for artists to showcase their work in a new context. Placing art work in the public
realm means negotiating and engaging not only with commercial and historical architecture but
also the public, our aim is to create a dialogue with the residents of Tullamore, ultimately showcasing the exciting infinite possibilities the new arts centre will offer.
In 2013 Foundation13 Arts program held 45 events in 12 venues in Tullamore town centre
and welcomed almost ten thousand visitors through it doors including local community groups, charities, entire schools, and scheduled bus arrivals from both Dublin and Galway.

Foundation14 art works ranged from large scale installations to photography, film, sculpture
and performance. Beyond this Foundation14 hosted film screenings, poetry recitals,
theatre nights, music events and an extensive series of workshops. Working with artists,
writers, performers, business's, community groups, enthusiasts, schools and the elderly in the
hope of creating common spaces where people can meet, be active or simply converse. This
project is about seeing what is around us and using it for the good of the community.
