Fit Buddy’s overall goal is to steer people in a fitness / active direction whether it be gym, swim, dance, yoga, aerobics the list is endless… Obviously I will not be able to cover all forms of fitness straight away but in time the idea is to inform people that they have a choice. Too often people say that they don’t like exercising not realising that dance, yoga, swim, skipping, running, walking the dog etc is a great way of keeping fit while having fun too, it’s not all about lifting weights and half starving yourself. Find a level of fitness to suit you, your needs, and your goals. Fitness is about flexibility, strength and cardio while releasing those happy endorphins. We should look forward to our fitness hour once, twice, three times a week, no point in dreading it as we won’t keep it up to gain the benefits.
To get back to the website and this facebook page, its target aims to get people to “move away from the couch” and find a way of keeping fit with fun. It’s also a great way of making new friendships with like-minded people as sometimes our friends will not always like the same sport or dance class that we do. You don’t have to change your friends just find a Fit Buddy a couple of times a week to share what you enjoy, you’ll find these buddy’s at your choice of class. A good fitness instructor will make it his / her business to include all participants in their group. This page and the Fit Buddy website WILL become your buddy in time if you just allow it. The website and this page is an introduction and invitation to look at options to get active including a piece on nutrition too. We all have to start somewhere so why not start from here.
