Duhallow Community Food Services 3.17

Established in 1997, Duhallow Community Food Services is an award winning community enterprise providing a subsidised meal service to those that are not in a position to cook for themselves and are isolated because of age, illness, lack of transport or other disadvantages that result in living in a rural area. In order to supplement the cost of producing the "meals on wheels" service, Duhallow Community Food Services expanded the business into two other key facets, bakery and contract catering. For family and community events, celebrations and gatherings, Duhallow Community Food Services offer a selection of meal options. Typically this service is used for christenings, communions, confirmations, home entertaining and wider community events.
Our manager Orlaith Tomkins was appointed in January 2008 bringing considerable experience of the hospitality and catering sector to the organisation. She graduated from GMIT in 1994 with a Degree in Hotel and Catering Management. Over the past number of years she has gained experience in the hospitality and food industry both in the UK and Ireland. She has completed a Management of Food Hygiene course and is a registered trainer with the HSE. Duhallow Community Food Services provides a wide range of baked goods and confectionery, produced and distributed to 15 local retail outlets. The products range spans:
Scones, Brown Bread, Apple Tarts, Rhubarb Tarts, Queen Cakes, Cheesecakes, Muffins, Apple Turnovers, Madeira Cakes, Variety of Fresh Cream Buns
