Wakeboard.ie proudly hosted the first Cable Wakeboard Event to take place in Ireland.

"DOCK STOCK DUBLIN 2012" in association with Waterways Ireland and Tall Ships Races Dublin.

Wakeboard.ie in association with Waterways Ireland and Dublin Tall Ships Races 2012 hosted the first Cable Wakepark Event ever in Ireland.
After months of planning and organising, the team from Wakeboard.ie built and installed a bespoke 'Cable Wakepark' especially designed for the historic Grand Canal Dock for the duration of the Tall ships Races.

The revolutionary towing system, the Sesitec System 2.0, towed athletes back and forth across the dock and extended cable wakepark features.

The System 2.0 means we can take the sport to the people and that is exactly what the "DOCK STOCK " event is all about. Using these brand new wake parks takes the action close to the spectators and into areas with high volumes of passing spectators.

The event crowned Ireland's first Wake Park Champion. Dan Kavanagh and Nicole Carroll.

This event is designed and directed by Ciaran Agnew from WAKEBOARD.ie, for all standards of Wakeboarders, from beginners to pros.

"We want to captivate people who have just started wakeboarding and give them reasons to carry on riding and meeting like minded friends. It is all about inspiring these new riders and getting them amped on the sport of wakeboarding. The divisions at the event include junior boys and girls, rookies, intermediates, open men, ladies and many more. We want there to be plenty of divisions so that all standards of riders have a reason to want to compete".
During the morning and early afternoon all the entrants can practice on the System 2.0 and a pro wake boarder will be on hand to give advice and coaching tips. Once the competition starts and each rider gets 3 passes of the wake park. The riders are judged by 3 judges and are scored points on the tricks they perform.

The wake park utilises a Sesitec System 2.0 and obstacles from Unit & Industry Wake Parks. The obstacles are used by the Wakeboarders to perform tricks over. One obstacle will be a large kicker which riders get boasted into the air and perform tricks like Tantrums, 540s, Moby Dicks and much more. The other obstacle will be a rail that the Wakeboarders slide over in a similar manor to what snowboarders and skateboarders do.

The event will inspire people to start wakeboarding, literature on how to start wakeboarding and where to do it will be handed out to all spectators. The MCs will constantly be informing the general public how and where to start wakeboarding. Professional demos from pro Wakeboarders will be built into the timetable and they will do shows designed to inspire young people to take up the sport. Wakeboarding is one of the most in demand sports of the modern day youth. "
