Move it like Mona Lisa this summer and come along to Da Vinci's Frisbees Alternative Sports and Art summer camps! Dates and venues are as follows:

Bunscoil Rinn an Chabhlaigh (Rushbrooke National School), Rushbrooke, Cobh, Co.Cork. Monday the – Friday 17th of July.

New venue this year: St Colman's National School, Mucklagh, Tullamore, Co.Offaly. Monday 20th - Friday 24th of July.



Camp will include a variety of new and exciting sporting activities as well fun art classes, ensuring it will be like no summer camp you have been to before. Camp runs from 09.00am - 2.00pm every day and is open to all children attedning primary school. Each child will participate in a variety of the activities listed below.

Art

An art experience like no other! Enthusiastic creative minds and budding artists alike will be delighted to get stuck into these alternative art lessons. The emphasis will be on the enjoyment and creativity of the process of making the art, where each end product will be different and unique for every child.

•Getting our hands dirty with some pottery, following in the footsteps of great artists such as Picasso and Mondrian, just to name a few.


• Becoming one with nature, completing some alternative outdoor art work inspired by Andy Goldsworthy.


•Splashing and spraying paint like Jackson Pollock, creating a modern day work of art.


•Craft work will include beautiful bright button art, thematic art linked to sun, sand and sea.


•Getting tangled up in Alexander Calder inspired funky mobile creations.


•Painting to music and Louise Bourgeois inspired straw painting will leave your creative buds tingling as we delve into the fantastic fun world of art. All materials will be provided. Each child will be required to bring an old t-shirt to protect their clothes. An exhibition of the art produced during the week will be on display in the school on the final day of the camp for all to admire.

Multi-Sport Activities

Tired of the same old sports? Looking to try something different? Why not come along and try out a variety of new and exciting sporting activities this summer. Campers will get a chance to try out a selection of new and exciting sports as well as some old favourites. The emphasis in all our multi-sport classes will be on fun, enjoyment and participation by all.

•Join in on the latest Ultimate Frisbee craze hitting Cobh over the past few months! This exciting game is easy to learn and guaranteed fun for everyone.


•All campers will also be introduced to a variety of other Frisbee games, such as Disc Golf and Frisbee soccer.


•Other activities that might be new to campers include american spike ball an adapted version of volleyball as well as handball.


•Tchoukball, a game in which there is a 'frame' (a device similar to a trampoline off which the ball bounces) at either side of the court.


•Release your inner flexibility and strength with some body bending Yoga.


•Some old favourites such as parachute games, dodge balland crab soccer.


•Participants will also take part in other co-operative games and team challenges


The emphasis in all our multi-sport classes is on fun, enjoyment and participation by all.


Camp information
• All teachers on our camp are fully qualified and Garda vetted.
• Children are placed in groups with similar aged children and activities are tailored accordingly.
• Children are required to bring a packed lunch and drink for the two breaks during the day
• Children must wear sports ware and also bring an old t-shirt or clothes protector to wear during art classes.
• The weekly price is all inclusive of art materials and the use of sporting equipment.
