Details

Conor Lynch is a woodturner based in rural County Offaly. He started woodturning at the age of eleven after seeing a demonstration and, when he was twelve, he bought a lathe with his confirmation money.
He is largely self-taught – many of his early works were used as firewood. Now he is considered one of Ireland’s leading emerging makers working in turned wood and regularly participates in craft fairs around the country, including the RDS Christmas Craft Fair.
He is a member of the Offaly Crafty collective of makers and artists. He has work in private collections in America, Australia, France and Mexico and one of his bowls was presented to President Mary McAleese in 2011. In 2014 he was featured on Junior Dragons’ Den where he secured a €2,000 bursary and mentoring from Peter Casey.
His collection of contemporary pieces are hugely popular with buyers around the world. His attention to detail and eye for design make his pieces unique. His designs are simple, with straight lines and flowing curves. Sometimes they evolve in response to the wood, but have also carefully evolved over time.
