The COLLEGE OF KINGESLAKE is the SCA identity of the Athlone Institute of Technology's Medieval and Archery Society.

The SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism), is a historical re-creation group founded in Berkley, California in the 1960's. We differ from re-enactment groups in that we participate for our own enjoyment and education rather than for public performance, although we do occasionally run public demonstrations at historical events, gaming conventions and colleges. We are open to students, staff and locals from the Athlone area. Our main activities are Rapier fencing, archery, calligraphy and illumination, garb/costume-making and fibre crafts. We are hoping to expand our activities even more this year.

The College of Kings Lake is a college branch within the Shire of Eplaheimr, which covers a geographical area covering Westmeath, Offaly, Laois, Tipperary, Cork, Cavan,Longford and all counties west of these.
