Clarecastle Community Garden 2.58

The Aims of the Communtiy Garden are:
• To generate civic pride by improving the appearance of the area for the benefit of the people of Clarecastle and its visitors.
• To provide a facility that encourages active, healthy living and involvement between different groups within the community.
• To promote food production and an organic scheme of planting and development. In particular we would encourage the use of native varieties of plants.
• To encourage environmental conservation and the creation of habitats for wildlife.
• To involve children, parents, residents, school and community organisations in the development of the community garden, teaching the skills necessary for self-sufficiency thus encouraging a wide sense of community interaction and ownership.
