It is situated 1.5km from the town of Cootehill, in an area renowned for its unrivalled angling facilities and numerous lakes and rivers. Cabragh House is the angling bait stockist for the area. Boats for hire, a heritage walking trail and cycling maps are available for guests. Local attractions include a swimming pool, a genealogy centre, an equestrion centre and evening entertainment. Taxi services are also available. The Errigal Country House Hotel is located a short distance from Cabragh House.

A planned town built during the great Georgian era of urban development, Cootehill derives its name from the marriage of Thomas Coote and Francis Hill from County Down. Cootehill is set in the heart of Lakeland and is an ideal touring centre. Visitors can take a stroll through beautiful Dartry Wood and enjoy lunch at the scenic Halton's Point picnic area.

The area is an anglers' paradise for coarse, pike and trout angling. There are twenty-five lakes and two rivers within a five mile radius. Angling information is always available and first time anglers are given a guided tour of the lakes and rivers and shown the favoured spots!
At Cabragh House we cater specifically for anglers. We are agents for fishing bait with deliveries twice weekly. A cold room and tackle room are also available for guests.
