Butt Mullins Restaurant was established by Mary Mulligan almost twenty five years ago. The premises are located on the site of the Old Random Inn which was the original location of one of the old Coaching Inns in Naas. These Coaching Inns were established to cater for the travellers on the main Dublin- Cork and Limerick road turnpike roads. The back walls of the restaurant garden are very high because they were originally one of the Hand Ball courts in the town.

Our philosophy from the beginning was to supply good wholesome food at a reasonable cost in nice surroundings. We believe that people should be able to treat themselves to a good night our without breaking the bank – even in a recession. Since the restaurant opened we have gone through at least two of them (recessions that is!). Over the years the restaurant has catered for the local market and of course for visitors to Naas from all corners of the Globe. The Local market is very important to us because our business has been built up on repeat visits to our restaurant by customers who were happy with our food and service. This is a real vote of confidence in our food and in our staff

Mary and her staff have developed some great friendships with our customers. The restaurant prides itself on the amount of repeat business that we get and which shows that our customers are well catered for. Our regular customers know that if they book in a special event like a birthday they will be well looked after on the evening. The amount of gift vouchers that are bought by our customers to give as presents is another indication of how our customers appreciate Butt Mullins Restaurant.

For special events such as Punchestown Week some of our tables are booked up from year to year. The Restaurant had been the centre of many social events. Our Literary Lunch season was a great success with Authors such as Maeve Binchy, Frank Mc Court and Joseph O’Connor entertaining our customers.

Mary and her team played a wonderful part in helping to hose the New Zealand Special Olympics team when they stayed in Naas.

We have catered with Naas Town Council and Kildare County Council in hosting dinners for the visitors from the various towns that the Town and the county are twined with

We pride ourselves on the relationship we have developed with our suppliers. Our policy has always been to source our ingredients as locally as possible. This has been a very successful policy for us right from the start of our enterprise because we have developed very trustworthy relationships with suppliers over the years.
