Blakes Hair salon was opened in 1976 by Mary Whyte. Her goal was to offer superior hairdressing services in relaxed yet luxurious surroundings. With almost 40 years under its belt, Blakes has now become firm favourites to many long term clients from both Carlow and further afield. The team boasts 14 staff who all have one thing in common, a love of hair and passion for hairdressing.

The dedicated styling team provides each client with a personalised styling and colour experience. With a strong emphasis on up-skilling and education, the team are constantly familiarising themselves with the latest trends in both cutting and colouring techniques. Owner, Mary is keen to point out that each member of staff is more than qualified to deal with any clients requests, stressing that the term salon junior does not sit well with her. “All the team are trained to an exceptionally high standard” she states. “They are all passionate about great hair and are committed to their clients.” We want to give you a hairstyle that is manageable and fits into your lifestyle. All the stylists ensure that your hair doesn’t just look good the day you leave the salon, but that you will be able to style it easily yourself, so that it will look just as amazing every day until your next appointment. The salon are very proud of the Master Colourists accolade that they have achieved. Along with this title, the salon also specialises in colour correction.

In recent years Blakes have added to their salon services and now offer a small selection of additional treatments including threading and eyelash application.
