We are A Taste of Days Gone By, a family run business, based in Furnace, Co. Mayo, producing homemade Jam’s, Chutney, Relish and Sauces. We cook the old fashioned way using only natural ingredients.

Patti Moss, Proprietor and Cook, came upon her Irish born Grandmother’s cook book.

After spending a winter’s day reading the contents, she decided to bring back the taste of her Grandmother’s jams, relishes and chutneys.

These were popular in the early days of the last century. Patti set up a small cottage industry. She named the products for the women in her family that had created them, Grandmother, Mother, Sisters and Aunts.

The women in this family enjoyed expressing themselves with their cooking.

“Like many other women, we learned to cook by watching our mother and our grandmothers. Family dinners and holidays in our kitchen were times of socializing, sharing and learning.”
