Villa Varnus at Lake Balaton 3.31

Beginning in the 18th century, Villa Varnus was a summer residence to many generations of bourgeois. The revitalized historic house and gardens thoughtfully depicts how Austro-Hungarian families lived during the 1910s and 1920s. The interior of the house, from draperies and wallpapers to furniture and lighting, represents this era with original family artifacts and authentically reproduced materials. Villa Varnus is owned by concert organist Xaver Varnus. From early May to late September Villa Varnus engage visitors, inspire passion, challenge ideas and connect the past to the present. Visitors by Appointment Only. Villa Varnus Open Air Theater opens in 2013 June.
