Borning of OSP. Meanwhile there was more and more handmade pingpong blades demanded and with 3-4 weeks manufacturing time this situation had to be solved. I found we can cover most of the needs by 6-7 standard models. Also found that in few cases customers have weight or head shape preferences. This drove us to start a project to shroten manufacturing time and improve our services. We wanted to emphasize the sources we had so we chose a projectname based on Laszlo’s blog, the fact that we standardise manufacturing and my brandname: oldstiga.com – standards – byPalatinus. Later we chose shortcut O.S.P. for brandname according to the project name. In the project we decided few initial points about the models, model names, handles, blade features. We apply only tested head shapes work with pro players, national champions who represent successful playing style. We name the blades two different ways. Some of the models’ name reflect to the playing features: Origo, Virtuoso, Ultimate, Immune. Others bear the name of players represent a style: Martin, Musko. Players are at least national champions. The handles are based on regular table tennis blades handles but we refined them to be similar to a smooth, matured and gripped handle. All the handles and blades finished by hand. Due to the whole process we established the first real handmade table tennis blade scale over the world with the full advantages of hand works:
Building and quality control is the responsibility of the same person. The daily 8-10 hours handwork continuously improve manufacturing technique, handwork as well as expands skills. Development and ideas is applied immediately with no compromise. This way we need no adjust ourself to huge machinery so we don not need to give up premium quality.
