Visionary film director Tim Burton is best recognized for his acclaimed list of whimsical blockbuster movies including Edward Scissorhands (1990), Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993), Big Fish (2003), and Alice in Wonderland (2010). Stretching beyond his array of award-winning films, Tim Burton is an extremely talented artist, illustrator, and author who expresses his personal views of the realistic world through his dark humor and imaginative works.

Presenting Burton’s phenomenal creativity and exceptional vision, “The World of Tim Burton” is a multimedia exhibition that brings visitors into his eccentric world of visual imagination. Curated from the artist’s personal archive, the exhibition is presented in thematic sections that examine his extensive career and showcases over 500 works, including drawings, paintings, photographs, sculptural installations, puppets, and moving-image works, that span from his earliest childhood to his most recent projects.

Burton’s artworks were first comprehensively exhibited in 2009 at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York in the eponymous exhibition “Tim Burton”. Since then, the exhibition of his artworks has traveled to different corners of the world including New York and Los Angeles in the United States; Toronto in Canada; Paris in France; Brühl in Germany; Prague in Czech Republic; Sao Paolo in Brazil; Tokyo and Osaka in Japan and further traveling to the Asia Pacific region visiting Seoul, Melbourne as well as its latest stop in Shanghai just this June. “The World of Tim Burton” will open in Hong Kong in November to quench the thirst of his local movie fans and supporters.

“The World of Tim Burton” is organized by Jenny He, Independent Curator, in collaboration with Tim Burton Productions, and presented in Hong Kong by TAO Company. Exhibition venue sponsored by Swire Properties Taikoo Place.

被譽為鬼才導演的添布頓（Tim Burton），以「幻海奇緣（1990）」、「怪誕城之夜（1993）」、「大魚奇緣（2003）」、「愛麗斯夢遊仙境 （2010）」等電影最為人認識。電影作品獲獎無數的同時，添布頓亦是一位極具個人風格的插畫家、出色的作家，其藝術作品以黑色幽黙、獨特的視線和角度演繹想像和現實生活，運用不同藝術媒介展現其創作意念，成為添布頓個人作品回顧展「添布頓異想世界」的基礎。展覽彙集了他從童年時代至今的500多件作品，包括：素描、繪畫、相片、木偶、雕塑裝置和音樂視頻片，至今到訪世界各地城市。

2009年，添布頓個人作品回顧展於紐約現代美術博覽館（MOMA）首度舉行，至今已到訪世界各地12個城市，包括美國紐約及洛杉磯、加拿大多倫多、法國巴黎、捷克布拉格、澳洲墨爾本、首爾、日本東京及大阪、德國布呂爾、巴西聖保羅，及於今年六月底展開的上海站 。而「添布頓異想世界」- 香港站亦將於今年11月初登陸香港！

「添布頓異想世界」由獨立策展人Jenny He與添布頓製作公司聯合主辦，並由TAO Company負責於香港展出。展覽場地由太古地產太古坊贊助。
