Nader Rasti was Director of the Chinese Ceramics and Works of Art department at Christie’s, London, before founding Knapton Rasti Asian Art in 2000 with his partner, Christopher Knapton. The gallery on Kensington Church Street and later on Duke Street, St. James's, dealt in objects from East Asia, India and Persia but quickly became known for its exquisite Chinese jade carvings particularly of the traditional literati taste.
In 2013, Nader established Rasti Chinese Art in Hong Kong. Works by contemporary artists that echo with tradition and classical aesthetics complement the antiquities. It is through the juxtaposition of past and present that the gallery hopes to inspire appreciation from a fresh perspective.
Pedram Rasti joined Rasti Chinese Art in 2017 after leaving Christie's, London, as Head of the Chinese Works of Art department and established the London branch of the gallery.
