The HKIOT Centre is divided into fivethematic zones – Manufacturing, Logistics, Healthcare, Retail and Smart City. The displays and applications demonstrated in each zone area showcases the versatility of IoT-related technologies in that particular area, allowing visitors to experience themselves how IoT enhances the business operation, environment and improves the quality of people’s lives.

Manufacturing Zone
This zone illustrates how the marriage of senor based technologies and Internet works to bring industrial automation to the next level and how IoT technologies can be applied to improve the end-to-end manufacturing process. It also showcases real-life examples on how different EPC-enabled RFID tags are applied to track item level goods in today’smodern manufacturing environment, thereby streamlining production processes, increasing productivity and assuring quality products.

Logistics Zone
This zone illustrates how RFID and IoT-related technologies can be beneficial to all supply chain stakeholders in logistics and warehouse management via a series of showcases that demonstrates real-time and automatic data and event capture for accurate inventory management and more importantly to facilitate Customs to better perform risk assessment of cross border logistics. It also exhibits how RFID-based technology facilitates intelligent goods storage and retrieval and optimizes resources utilization.

Healthcare Zone
This zone spells the inspired innovation of IoT technologies in ensuring patient safety, quality services and to safe guard the health of the general public.

Retail Zone
This zone touches the essence of one of Hong Kong's economy pillars - the retail. A wide range of cutting edge IoT technologies including a number of smart devices, retail applications and smart phone enabled solutions to realize a future store are introduced. All these displays and demonstrations aim to unleash the values and benefits of IoT technologies to the entire value chain, from the suppliers to the retailer and eventually the end consumers.

Smart City Zone
This zone converges innovation and on-hands experience to allow visitors to "touch& feel" the power of IoTtechnologies and the convenience which IoT will bring to our city with fun. More local IoT implementation references covering commuting, public services, building & construction and sports activities etc. are also introduced. An EPC-enabled RFID device is given to every visitor to capture his or her visiting history, named "My IoT footprint", while he or she can look up the information with RFID facilities available in the zone or simply scan a QR code printed on the device. The zone truly spells Hong Kong's advances in IoT-related technologies development and IoT is happening NOW in this smart city.
