Roger Nilsson and Alain Chiglien, founding owners of Galerie NeC in Paris since 2001, have chosen Hong Kong to be the home for their third art gallery. In a plan to open the doors to the international art scene, this extraordinary project has been made possible thanks to local investors wanting to take part in this exciting development. In terms of art and cultural heritage, Gallery NeC aims to unite these two cities’ mutual fascination for the contemporary art scene.
For over twenty years, Nilsson and Chiglien have developed a unique expertise in the art world. Their commitment to promote ceramic as a material has also been supported by many international museums and institutions, such as the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, Sèvres - Cité de la Céramique, the Museum of Decorative Arts in Paris, and Icheon World Ceramic Center, in which most of galerie NeC artists are represented: Eva Hild, Harumi Nakashima, Steen Ipsen, Louise Hindsgavl, Wouter Dam, Gustaf Nordenskiöld and among others. Today they are highly respected for what rapidly came to be their specialty: contemporary ceramic sculpture.
