1. About us

The Business Administration Department aims to provide quality and vocationally oriented programmes that are relevant to current employment needs and to offer a flexible education which enhances graduates' opportunities for career advancement and further study. The programmes have been prepared in line with the advice and guidance of representatives from the major areas of business in Hong Kong. All programmes emphasise practical business training and students are exposed to a high level of 'hands-on' practice that reflects current business practices and situations.

The Department provides a diverse and effective training environment for the students. Course modules offered by the Department encourage creativity and practicality. Through integrating business theories and practices in the learning process, students learn not only the technical skills that are required in the relevant job, but also they acquire the key skills like interpersonal communication skills, personal management skills and teamwork skills that prepare them to succeed in their future careers.

2. Building on our Strengths

The Department, with a team of well qualified staff, is committed to the development of innovative learning approaches and ongoing staff development, supported by multimedia teaching aids and resources.

The Department is equipped with a good range of facilities for lectures, tutorials and project work which include a Centre for Legal and Administrative Practices, Centre for Accounting Services and Training and a Marketing and Business Management Centre. Students can take advantage of these specialised facilities for learning and project work.

There are numerous career opportunities arising from the courses offered within the Department. Graduates can be employed as business or corporate administrators, legal or accounting personnel, marketing executives and event coordinators and there are many more interesting and rewarding positions that they can take up in various business sectors in Hong Kong.

There are recognitions of academic standing for Higher Diploma graduates granted by the Open University of Hong Kong; Northumbria University; Conventry University; Sheffield Hallam University; University of Central Lancashire; Leeds Metropolitan University; the Law Society of Hong Kong; the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants; the Hong Kong Institute of Accredited Accounting Technicians and other professional bodies.
