My husband and I have been visiting Corfu for 40 years, and 10 years ago we started looking for our dream location on the island of Corfu to build our family villa. After travelling all round the island we decided the location had to be on the North West coast as it is here that captures the traditional charms of Corfu and benefits from unrivaled sunrise to sunset views.

Together with my sons we started building Villa Panayia in 2007 and it was completed in 2014, having survived a change of builder, the financial crisis, one of our son's emigrating to Australia, the arrival of 4 grandchildren, and my husband's retirement.

The original idea for the villa was to have somewhere the whole family can come together and share holiday time, we are pleased to say this original idea has now been achieved.

Villa Panayia benefits from being situated on a ridge overlooking both Arillas and Agios Georgios bays, and the islands beyond. The location has seen very modest tourist development - just enough to maintain a good selection of tavernas and local shopping and produce. As such the traditional charm has been preserved and it is easy to be immersed in the Corfu way of life. Access from Corfu airport is approximately 30kms and is about an hours drive - although there is a local bus stop a few minutes walk from the villa, we always choose to hire a car. Once at the villa, you could easily manage without a car as there is so much to do in walking distance, with a selection of 3 villages and requisite beaches and tavernas (Arillas, Georgios and Afionas) on the doorstep.

Villa Panayia benefits from being situated on a commanding ridge overlooking both Arillas and Agios Georgios bays, and the islands beyond. Being high up the panoramic view affords all 4 bedrooms something special. The villa has been designed to allow all 4 bedrooms enough space for some privacy by all having their own large balconies and bath/shower rooms - so if you visit with family and friends you can still have some quiet time. This is something which really sets this villa apart. The communal areas include a large outdoor BBQ area with pergola and outdoor sink, an infinity pool, off-road parking for 2-3 cars, expansive open plan middle floor for the kitchen, dining area and lounge as well as further balconies. With all this space the villa can cope with 4 couples and young children.
